Ayurvedic Treatment

The Ayurvedic treatment comprises the following procedures:

Abhayangam ( Whole body Ayurvedic massage ) - Warm medicated oil is used to massage the whole body. According to a persons body type, the massage category is selected which is proved beneficial to the body. It helps to improve blood circulation, relax the muscles as well as tone up the whole body leading to omprovement of the skin texture.
  • Swedana (Steam Bath) – The body is exposed to a steam of medicated decoctions succeeding the full body massage. It's a wonderful way to relieve joint pain by relaxing muscles.
  • Navarakizhi – The rice cooked in a decoction of herbs which is specially immersed in medicated milk and is applied on the body after the Ayurvedic massage. It helps in improving the nerve functionality and removes the muscular limpness; thereby enhancing the physical strength and rejuvenating the body.
  • Sarvangadhara (Pizhichil)- Medicated oil is poured over the body in a synchronized manner after full body Ayurvedic massage. It increases the strength of the muscles and nerves, reduces pain and stiffness of joints. It increases vitality and texture of the skin.
  • Shirodhara - Taila (medicated oil) or Ksheera (milk) or Thakra (Buttermilk) is poured over the forehead in a rhythemic manner. It cures Insomnia and stress. It improves the memory, central nervous system functions and help hair growth.
  • Facial - Herbal facial pack does the conditioning of the facial skin, reduces pimples, black heads etc. and makes the skin glow.
Panchakarma is a classical form of detoxification practised throughout the ages in India routinely for prevention and treatment. This ancient purification and rejuvenation technique involves a series of specialized treatments specifically tailored to doshas or mind body types

These include:
  • Vamanam - This treatment is used when there is congestion in the lungs causing repeated attacks of bronchitis, cough, cold or asthma by inducing medical emesis. After vomiting the patient will feel very comfortable; most of the congestion, wheezing and breathlessness will disappear along with the clearing of the sinus.
  • Virechanam - Virechanam is the cleansing of the pita and the purification of the blood toxins. Herbal laxative therapy is used to cleanse the sweat glands, small intestine, colon, kidneys, stomach, liver, and spleen. Used for treatment of skin diseases, chronic fever, piles, abdominal tumors, worms, gout, jaundice, gastrointestinal problems, constipation, and irritable bowel syndrome.
  • Vasthi - Urovasthi, kashayavasthi,Snehavasthi and Utharavasthi are the medicated enemas that are used to flush the loosened doshas out through the intestinal tract. It alleviates constipation, distention, sexual disorders, kidney stones, backache and hyper acidity.
  • Nasyam - Herbal inhalation therapy. It is used mostly to eliminate kapha-oriented problems of nose and throat disorders such as migraine, sinusitis and bronchitis. Nasyam is indicated for dryness of the nose, sinus congestion, hoarseness, migraine headache, convulsions problems.
  • Raktamoksha - Blood letting is used to eliminate toxins that are absorbed into the bloodstream through the gastrointestinal tract. This process purifies the blood. It is used for disorders such as repeated attacks of skin disorders such as urticaria, rash, eczema, acne, scabies, leucoderma, chronic itching, and hives. It was also found effective for enlarged liver and spleen, and for gout.
Accommodation

Interiors reflect ambience of traditional Kerala style architecture. Cots, Tables and Chairs are all handcrafted in primitive style.
