Overview
Welcome to Herbal Nest Ayurvedic Center. Dubbed as Homestay resort, it is centrally located in the Sulthan Bathery of Wayanad District in Kerala, India. Each guest is treated as an Adhidhi; a honored guest and friend. The visitors are provided with limited yet comfortable accomodation rather than a traditional hotel. Also it serves as a renowned Ayurvedic centre with several available treatments under the guidance of a board certified ayurvedic doctor.
Wayand is one of the most photogenic tourist location in Kerala. Wayanad is located at a height of about 800m above sea level. One can enjoy its calm and serene environment throughout the year.
It is located 90 km from Calicut railway station. Being 100 km away from Calicut airport, it is located 1 km away from the bus terminus. It takes 6 hour drive from Bangalore as well as 7 hour drive from Kochi.
The Wayanad district is located in the southern tip of the Deccan plateau. To it’s North and east, it borders the Karnataka district of Coorg and Mysore. Further to the southeast lie the Nilgiris of Tamil Nadu.
Ayurvedic Facilities
According to the ancient Indian medical system of Ayurveda, there is a change of time with wrong perceptions. Wrong actions lead to imbalance of body and mind. True medicine apart from healing, enables a healthy body. Since Ayurveda considers man as a whole, not only soul, but also body can be considered. According to the traditional Indian concept, ayurveda is the most reputed and famed area of science. So one should keep in mind the traditional theory, while relishing the beauty of Wayanad. The list of treatments in offer, are summarized as follows. Reservation of treatment needs to be ensured beforehand.
- Njavarakizhi: Body Massage with Njavara Rice for 7, 14 or 21 days.
- Udhvartanam: Rubbing body with medical power for 7, 14 or 21 days.
- Podikizhi: Body massage with medical powder in bolus for 7, 14 or 21 days.
- Nasyam: Applying Medicine Through nostrils for 7 days.
- Tharpanam: Applying medicated ghee in eyes for 5 days.
- Abyangam: Body massage with medicated oil for 7, 14 or 21 days.
- Pizhichil: Pouring warm oil all over body for 7, 14 or 21 days.
- Dhara: Applying medicated water all over the body with cloth for 7, 14 or 21
days.
- Sirodhara: Applying oil/medicated butter milk on forehead for 7, 14 or 21 days.
- Vasthi: Enema with medicine
- Shirovasthi: Allowing oil to stay on head with a cap for 7 days.
- Avogaham: Spiral bath in medicated water for 7, 14 or 21 days.
- Kati Vasti: Allowing oil to stay on back with a barrio 7, 14 or 21 days.
- Ksheeradoomam: Fomentation with cow’s milk for 7 days.
Accomodation
Herbal Nest consists of 3 double bed cottages. It's a Government of Kerala certified Homestay accomodation. The cottages have the priviledge of preparing food for the guests. Other facilities like guide, vehicles, cable TV and the like are available on request. Also the provision of attached kitchen facility and computer net facility ensures a comfortable stay.
